New Delhi: Aditya Prasad Sahu has been appointed as an Independent Director on the Board of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Heavy Industry. As per communications received from the Ministry of Heavy Industry, Sahu has been appointed on the Board of BHEL Limited with effect from December 29, 2021, for a period of three years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This information has been shared by the Maharatna PSU in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Wednesday.

Sahu is a Postgraduate in Commerce from Ranchi University. His area of specialization includes Finance and Administration. He is having vast experience of more than 30 years in Teaching and was a lecturer of RTC College, Ranchi for the period from 1989 to 2004 and vice-principal of RTC College, Ranchi from 2005 to 2019. Presently, he is holding a directorship in Chinnamastika Infra Realty Private Limited.

As of December 29, 2021, there are a total of four Functional Directors, two Part-time Directors and seven Independent Directors on the Board of BHEL Limited. 

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) owned and founded by the Government of India, is an engineering and manufacturing company based in New Delhi. It is a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Heavy Industries. BHEL was established in 1964. It is India's largest power generation equipment manufacturer.
