Ajay Kumar Chauhan appointed as Independent Director on IRCON Board

New Delhi: Ajay Kumar Chauhan has been appointed as an Independent Director on the board of IRCON Limited with effect from November 11, 2021. The Board of Directors of IRCON in its board meeting held on November 12, have approved the appointment of Ajay Kumar Chauhan as an Independent (Part-Time Non-Official) Director (Additional Director) on the board of the company. This information has been shared by the Railways PSU in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Friday.

Chauhan is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of 1984-batch. He had held important positions on all functional posts in the Income Tax Department. Chauhan also held the post of Director General of Competition Commission of India. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Graduate School of Business, University of Sydney, Australia (1994-1996), M.Phil. (Industrial Psychology) from University of Delhi, India (1981-1983), MA (Psychology) from the University of Delhi, India and obtained Distinction (1979-1981), BA (Hon.) with Psychology, Political Science and History from Aligarh M. University, India. He was awarded Business School Scholarship from Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Philippines for meritorious performance in the Business School (Sydney University).

Chauhan was nominated by the Government of India for a foreign deputation to Sydney, Australia under the Commonwealth Exchange Programme during his tenure of foreign deputation, he undertook important field projects as a part of an advanced business strategy course at the Graduate School of Business, University of Sydney, Australia which includes emerging Corporate Structure of Rail Business in Australia, Penfold Wines Pic, Australia: Strategies of Market Expansion.
