AP Maheshwari said to be the frontrunner for post of ITBP DG

For the post of Director General (DG) of Indo-Tibetan Border Police, AP Maheshwari, a 1984 batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, is said to be taking a lead over the other names. In October last year, he had taken over as the DG of Bureau of Police Research and Development. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as a Special Director in the Border Security Force.
