New Delhi: Arun Kumar Mishra has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). Prior to his appointment in EESL, he was serving as Director of National Smart Grid Mission (NSGM). "Mishra has been appointed to the post on a deputation basis and he will be responsible for its operations across the nation, EESL said in an official statement.

"Mishra is a veteran in the energy sector, with more than three decades of experience in NTPC and Power Grid Corporation of India Limited including Policy perspective as Director of National Smart Grid Mission (NSGM), Project Management Unit (PMU) and Vice-Chair of International Smart Grid Action Network (ISGAN)," the statement added.

Mishra is an Engineering Graduate (Electrical Engineering) from Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra. He is a certified ISMS lead auditor. He started his career with NTPC and later moved to Power Grid. He has over 34 years of experience in the planning, design and implementation of power systems, information and communication technology (ICT) integration in power utilities, SCADA and smart grid applications. He has also undertaken feasibility studies and requirements of load despatch centres, besides designing their complex communication networks.

On his appointment, Mishra said, "It is an honour to be a part of the world's largest public energy service company. The government has acknowledged the potential of renewable energy… I look forward to consolidating EESL leadership position in sustainable energy transformation."

EESL is a joint venture between NTPC Limited, PFC Limited, REC Limited and Power Grid. It was set up under the power ministry to facilitate the implementation of energy efficiency projects.
