The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel has recommended the name of Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan for the post of Managing Director (MD) of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL)

New Delhi: Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan is set to be the next Managing Director (MD) of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Saturday. He is currently serving as Director (Technical) in the same organisation. He is also holding the additional charge of NRL's MD post.

Phukan has been recommended for the post of MD of NRL from a list of three candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel on March 5. Other candidates who were on the list were from Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

Phukan is a Mechanical Engineer from Assam Engineering College, Guwahati. He has more than 30 years of experience in the oil industry, including logistics, marketing, technical services and operation. He started his career in Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (Assam Oil Division) in the year 1990 and thereafter joined NRL in the year 1999. Prior to his assuming the office of Director (Technical) NRL on February 1, 2017, he was holding the position of General Manager (Operations) in NRL.

He was earlier given additional charge of NRL's Managing Director post on February 1 for a period of three months.
