Delhi NCR air pollution: BHEL develops state-of-the-art air pollution control tower

New Delhi: To deal with the problem of rising air pollution in urban areas, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has indigenously designed and developed a state-of-the-art Air Pollution Control Tower (APCT). The first such Air Pollution Control Tower is being installed in Noida on a trial basis by BHEL, in association with the Noida Authority, said the PSU in a tweet on Saturday.

The Air Pollution Control Tower will improve the quality of air in an area of approximately 1 sq km around its installation. "BHEL will work hand-in-hand with the Noida Authority in the fight against pollution in this area for improving the health of local residents, office-goers and visitors. Based on the success of this project, a grid of such APCTs can be installed in NCR and Noida to improve the ambient air quality of the city," said BHEL.

BHEL  is an engineering and manufacturing company. It is a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Heavy Industries. BHEL was established in 1964. It is India's largest power generation equipment manufacturer.
