BIS recruitment 2020: Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the statutory body under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs), and responsible for activities in the field of Standardization, Product and System Certification, Hallmarking of Gold/Silver Jewellery, Laboratory Testing, etc. in the country, has invited online applications from the eligible candidates for filling up of vacancies in the Technicians post by Direct Recruitment at BIS Headquarters. The last date to apply online is March 8.

Payscale: For Technical Assistant (Laboratory) Level 6 and Senior Technician Level 4

Application fee: Rs 500/-  (SCs/STs/PWDs/Ex-servicemen/Women and BIS serving Departmental candidates are exempted from the fee)

Note: (1) The payment of the application fee is to be made through the on-line system only
(2) Fees would be payable from February 17 to March 8 and shall be non-refundable under any circumstances.
(3) Bank transaction charges, if any, incurred for online payment of application fees/intimation charges, will have to be borne by the candidate himself/herself.

Age Limit: Minimum 18 year to and maximum age limit is 30 years

Education qualification

Technical Assistant (Laboratory): Candidates applying for Technical Assistant (Laboratory)  should have bachelor's degree in Science (with Chemistry or Microbiology or Physics or Bio-Technology or Food Technology or Bio-Chemistry or Electronics as one of the main subject) with minimum sixty percent marks (Fifty percent for scheduled castes and scheduled tribes)

Candidates having three years diploma in Mechanical or Electrical or Civil or Chemical or Electronics or Food Technology or Metallurgy with minimum sixty percent marks (Fifty percent marks for the scheduled castes and the scheduled tribes) are eligible for Technical Assistant (Laboratory).

Senior Technician: Candidates applying for Senior Technician should be Matric or its equivalent from any recognised college or university.

Candidates having Industrial Training Institute certificate in Electrician, Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration, Mechanic (Diesel–Engine), Fitter, Carpenter, Welder (the welder should be also having passed the welders' qualifying test as per the relevant Indian standard or its equivalent), and two years' practical experience in the respective trade after having obtained the Industrial Training Institute certificate or National Apprenticeship Certificate in the relevant trade, are eligible for the job.
