New Delhi: State-run Coal India Limited (CIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Coal, has again appointed M Viswanathan as Company Secretary & Compliance Officer with effect from June 1. M Viswanathan had superannuated from Coal India on May 31. He has been appointed as Company Secretary on contract basis for a period of one year again, on Monday. This information has been shared by the Coal India in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Monday.

Viswanathan's profile

Viswanathan is a commerce graduate from Madurai Kamaraj University. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountant of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). He has an experience of more than 34 years of his field, also he has a very long association with Coal India Limited (CIL). After joining in December 1986, Vishwanathan has worked with various branch and head offices of Coal Indian subsidiary Eastern Coalfields Limited. In September 2010, he joined Coal India Limited's headquarters at Kolkata, during the crucial time of Coal India's IPO and looked after the works at the department as Senior Manager. In December 2011, he again joined Coal India as Company Secretary. 

Achievements

Viswanathan has been rated as one of the excellent officers in the company. Throughout the carrier of 34 years at coal Industry, he has received Outstanding/ Excellent CR. He is a recipient of excellent award certificate on CIL foundation day's functions in 2015, 2017 and 2019.
