Dr Krushana Chandra Sahoo set to be next Director (Commercial) of NSC

New Delhi: Dr Krushana Chandra Sahoo is set to be the next Director (Commercial) of National Seeds Corporation (NSC), a Miniratna PSU under the Department of Agriculture Cooperation & Farmer's Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Dr Sahoo has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. He is currently serving as General Manager in Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), a Navatana PSU under the Ministry of Steel.

Dr Sahoo has been recommended for the post of Director (Commercial) of NSC from a list of two candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB Selection panel. Another candidate, who was on the list was from Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).

As Director (Commercial) of NSC, Dr Sahoo will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be in charge of Production, Marketing and Quality Control activities including production and sales of agro products and their promotion, distribution network, logistics, warehousing, pricing, key customer relationship, quality assurance etc. for meeting the competitive goals and financial results of the Corporation. He will also be responsible for the implementation of the applicable Government Schemes and decisions of the Board relating to the above-mentioned areas of work.

National Seeds Corporation Limited (NSC) was incorporated with the objective to promote and develop the seed industry in the country and to contribute to the prosperity of farmers through the supply of quality seeds and other agro-inputs and services as well as to enhance agricultural productivity.
