Govt approves appointment of several officers at Additional Secretary-level

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of a number of officers at the Additional Secretary-level in various Ministries, Departments and government organisations. Here is the full list:

Amrit Lal Meena (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary (Logistics) in the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. According to Personnel Ministry, he has been appointed to the post by temporarily downgrading the post of Special Secretary (Logistics) in the Department of Commerce to Additional Secretary level. Meena is a 1989-batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre. He is currently posted as the Principal Secretary in the Road Construction Department of Bihar government.

Sudhir Garg (lAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Garg is a 1990-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He is currently posted as Principal Secretary in the Dairy Development Department of Uttar Pradesh.

Jayant Sinha (IA&AS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. Sinha is an Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) officer of Uttar Pradesh.

Sanjiv Kumar (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. Kumar is a 1992-batch IAS officer of Uttarakhand cadre. He is currently posted as Executive Director (North) in the Food Corporation of India (FCI) under the Department of Food and Public Distribution.

Kamlesh Kumar Pant (IAS) has been appointed as Chairperson of the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority under the Department of Pharmaceuticals in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary vice Shubhra Singh (IAS) upon her repatriation to cadre. Pant is a 1993-batch IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre.

Sanjay Garg (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Agricultural Research & Education and Secretary of Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Garg is a 1994-batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre.

Suman Sharma (IRS) has been appointed as Managing Director (MD) of Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), a PSU under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, at the Joint Secretary level. Sharma is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of 1990-batch. She is currently posted as Additional DGFT in the Directorate General of Foreign Trade under the Department of Commerce.

Tanmay Kumar (IAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change. In addition to this, he will also hold the additional charge of the post of Chairman of Central Pollution Control Board. Kumar is a 1993-batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre. He is currently posted as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Power.

The ACC has also approved in-situ up-gradation of the following officers to the level of Additional Secretary to the government, as a measure personal to them, by temporarily upgrading the post held by them: 

Shantmanu (IAS) has been appointed as Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) in the Ministry of Textiles, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Shantmanu is a 1991-batch IAS officer of the Jammu & Kashmir cadre.

Sanjay Rastogi (IAS) has been appointed as Development Commissioner (Handlooms) in the Ministry of Textiles in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Rastogi is a 1991-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre.

Sudeep Jain (IAS) has been appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India (ECI) in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Jain is a 1994-batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre.

Amit Kumar Ghosh (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. Ghosh is a 1994-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He is currently posted as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.

Ganji Kamala V Rao (IAS): The ACC has further approved the assignment of the additional charge of the post of Director General (Tourism) of the Ministry of Tourism to Ganji Kamala V Rao (IAS). Rao is a 1990-batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre. He is currently serving as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of India Tourism Development Corporation Limited (ITDC). He has been given additional charge of the post till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shubhra Singh (IAS): The ACC has also approved the repatriation of Shubhra Singh (IAS), Chairperson, National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority, Department of Pharmaceuticals, to her parent cadre.
