‘Aim to spot and develop players of calibre’

Speaking on the occasion Chamola said, “The aim is to spot and develop players of exceptional calibre and prepare them to be professional players for the tough domestic and international tournaments and also provide the right kind of infrastructure that matches the international standards.”

The football complex within the sprawling HAL Sports Club is capable of organising various top-class tournaments and training. The complex also has full-size natural grass grounds which give the players the opportunity to train in both artificial turf and natural grass grounds.

HAL’s contribution to sports

HAL has taken up significant development activities for youth in sports. The ‘HAL Football Academy’ strongly promotes football right from the grass-root for the development of the game in Karnataka and the country, the Defence PSU said in a press release.

The selected players from across the country are provided professional coaching with complete lodging and boarding facilities for the players. The players have access to use the modern gymnasium for strength training and state-of-the-art swimming pool.
