HAL Recruitment 2021: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has posted a job vacancy through the PESB portal for the engagement of the Director (Operations). Eligible and Interested candidates can apply for the jobs before October 13. The post will fall vacant on March 1, 2022. Currently, MS Velpari is serving as Director (Operations) of the company.

Director (Operations) is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD). He is the functional head for Corporate planning & projects; joint ventures; offsets; modernisation; indigenization; business development & marketing; quality assurance; customer services; management services and information technology; outsourcing; Risk Management and Flight Testing.

As a Member of the Board, he would be responsible for the following:-

(i) He will be head of production divisions & ensure the effective and efficient implementation of production plans or operations, modernization and expansion plans.
(ii) Facilitates formulation of long term and annual plans in his area of operations and its implementation through evolving suitable strategies, monitoring progress and initiating corrective actions.
(iii) Ensures up-gradation of capabilities in the manufacturing divisions, for timely and cost-effective completion of the projects or contracts.
(iv) To maintain cordial and effective relationships with collaborators, vendors, suppliers, and relevant government departments and bodies.
(v) Assist the Board in considering the relevant proposals placed before it.

Any other responsibility as and when assigned by the board or chairman.

Pay scale: Rs 1,80,000 – 3,40,000 (IDA)

Age Limit: Minimum age limit 45 years and age of superannuation 60 years

The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale will be one year for internal candidates, and two years for others as on the date of vacancy.

Employment status

The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:-

Preference would be given to candidates from listed companies.

(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);
(b) Central Government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;
(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 5000 crore or more;
(d) Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is *Rs 5000 crore or more.

(*The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

Qualification

The applicant should be an engineering graduate preferably in aeronautical or mechanical or electronics engineering with good academic record from a recognized university or institution.

Applicants holding MBA or Post Graduate Diploma in management will have an added advantage.

Experience

The applicant should have adequate technical/operational experience at a senior level of management out of which at least five years during the last ten years should have been in the aeronautical industry.

Experience in the field of manufacture, overhaul, maintenance and repair of aircraft, aero-engines, accessories and avionics is desirable.

Note (i) Applicants from Central Government / All India Services should be holding a post of the level of Joint Secretary in Government of India or carrying equivalent scale of pay on the date of application.

(ii) Applicants from the Armed forces of the Union should be holding a post of the level of Major General in the Army or equivalent rank in Navy/Air Force on the date of application.

(c) Applicants from State Public Sector Enterprises or Private Sector should be working at Board level position or at least a post of the level immediately below the Board level on the date of application.

Duration of appointment

The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up to the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
