New Delhi: Former Finance Secretary Hasmukh Adhia has been appointed as the non-executive chairman of Bank of Baroda. A 1981-batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, Adhia superannuated on November 30 last year. His last appointment was as the Finance Secretary.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved his appointment as a part-time non-official director as well as non-executive chairman on the board of Bank of Baroda for a period of three years, a statement released by the Ministry of Personnel said. In a Facebook post made by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, the minister had referred to Adhia as a “no-nonsense civil servant who performed his job with professionalism…He was unquestionably a highly competent, disciplined, no-nonsense civil servant and of course, with impeccable integrity.”
