New Delhi: (7th pay commission latest update) Reportedly, the 7th pay commission is going to bring a number of good news for central government employees, state government employees and some members of the forces. The 7th pay commission latest update is that the ACR (Annual confidential report) is going to play an important role in your promotion as well as salary hike. PSU Watch is trying to list down the 'so far known information' on 7th Pay Commission linked bonanza for government employees coming up in January-February that has grabbed headlines in the recent days.

7th Pay Commission for government employees
In a major development, salary hike, as well as arrears, are announced for the government employees of Chhattisgarh. The arrears will come from January. The government employees in Chhattisgarh had their DA and arrears cleared based on 7th CPC pay system.

7th CPC salary to be effective from this month
A press release issued by the Chhattisgarh Finance department announced that the increased salary will be effective from January 2021.

The arrears will come from July 1, 2020
These employees will also get arrears from July 1, 2020, to December 31, 2020.

7th CPC Dearness Allowance increase
According to reports, the central government employees would get a four percent increase in 7th Pay Commission linked dearness allowance (DA) which is expected in January 2021 itself.

The Modi government recently decided to extend "Disability Compensation" for all serving employees, if they get disabled in the line of duty and are retained in service in spite of such disablement.

7th Pay Commission DA Hike in 2020
In March 2020, the Union Cabinet approved to release an additional instalment of DA to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners w.e.f. 01.01.2020 as linked to 7th Pay Commission.

Impact of DA hike
The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief was fixed at Rs 12,510.04 crore per annum and Rs 14,595.04 crore in Financial Year 2020-21. The Centre's decision will benefit about 48.34 lakh Central Government employees and 65.26 lakh, pensioners.
