Barnati Barua Tokhi appointed as Managing Director (MD) of BPRL

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Coal for the appointment of Barnati Barua Tokhi for the post of Managing Director (MD) of Bharat Petro Resources Limited (BPRL). According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Tokhi has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of her assumption of charge of the post till the date of her superannuation i.e. August 31, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Earlier, PSU Watch had reported when Tokhi was recommended for the post of Managing Director of BPRL by the PESB panel on September 14. He was among five candidates, who were interviewed for the post.

Bharat Petro Resources Limited (BPRL), is a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). It was incorporated in October 2006. The company was set up with the objective of carrying out exploration and production activities considering the need for a focused approach in exploration and production activities and implementation of investment plans of Bharat Petroleum at a faster pace.
