New Delhi: The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) in association with NTPC Sipat organised a national conference on electrical safety on June 30. The program was held at NTPC Sipat Regional Learning Institute (RLI) through blended mode.

More than 2,000 delegates from all over the country attended the conference in physical and digital mode. About 50 senior delegates from NTPC, CEA, Power Grid, CSPDCL, GEC, Cape Electric India, KSK Energy and Chhattisgarh State Load Dispatch Centre etc attended the conference in physical mode at NTPC Sipat Regional Learning Institute (RLI). The rest of the dignitaries and delegates were connected digitally.

An introductory address was given by LKS Rathore, Director RIO (west), CEA who led the CEA team in organising the conference. The inaugural session was addressed by Goutam Roy, Member (Power System), CEA, Ramesh Kumar, Chief Electrical Inspector to Govt of India and Anil Kumar Pandey, Regional Executive Director (WR-II & USSC), NTPC.

The welcome address was given by Ghanshyam Prajapati, Chief General Manager & HOP (Sipat), NTPC Ltd who highlighted some of the best practices of electrical safety adopted by NTPC Sipat. Vote of thanks was proposed by Ramnath Pujari, GM (O&M), NTPC Sipat. The Program proceedings were conducted by Alok Kumar Tripathi, GM (RLI), NTPC Sipat.

Knowledge-sharing sessions on safety regulations, electrical accident analysis and case studies, global earthing systems and best practices in electrical safety were shared by faculty from CEA, NTPC, PGCIL and Cape Electric India.

Speaking on this occasion, Goutam Roy said that all of us should work as "Safety Warriors" and should endeavour to save lives. Ramesh Kumar, Chief Electrical Inspector to Govt of India stressed various steps required to prevent electrical accidents. Anil Kumar Pandey, RED (WR-II & USSC), NTPC mentioned the commitment shown by NTPC towards safety. Technical sessions were chaired by KS Manothia, ED- SLDC, Chhattisgarh, and the program ended with the closing remarks of LKS Rathore, Director RIO (West), CEA.
