NEEPCO CMD wins Eminent Water Resources Engineer Award- 2020

New Delhi: NEEPCO Limited's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) VK Singh has been conferred with the Eminent Water Resources Engineer Award-2020. The award has been presented to Singh in the field of water resources development and management by the Department of Water Resources Development and Management, IIT-Roorkee and Indian Water Resources Society (IWRS), Roorkee on June 18, at an International e-Conference on 'Water Source Sustainability.'

Singh is an engineering graduate (Electrical Engineering) from Regional Engineering College (now NIT), Durgapur (West Bengal). He has done M Tech (Control Systems) from IIT-Kharagpur. He has been serving as CMD of NEEPCO since September 1, 2019. Prior to this, he was holding the charge of Director (Technical) of NEEPCO from March 1, 2016. He has completed his bachelors of Before joining NEEPCO he was working as the Executive Director (Uttarakhand Power Stations) at NHPC. He has vast experience of over 32 years covering the entire gamut of hydropower development in NHPC. He was responsible for the electromechanical design & engineering of six hydropower plants of NHPC. He was actively involved for eight years in the construction of the 540 MW Chamera-I HE project (Himachal Pradesh) with Canadian collaboration.
