New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has successfully emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a significant project awarded by the Southern Railway. The project involves the provision of Multi-Section Digital Axle Counters (MSDAC) with existing Digital Communication Terminal Controllers (DCTC) at various stations, serving as dual detection systems.

Additionally, RVNL will replace the remaining Audio Frequency Track Circuits (AFTCs) in the MAS-GDR (Chennai Central to Gudur) and MSB-TBM (Chennai Beach to Tambaram) automatic block signaling sections within the Chennai Division.

This contract is crucial for enhancing the efficiency and safety of the automatic block signaling system, which is vital for the smooth operation of trains in these busy sections of the Southern Railway.

The total value of the contract is ₹111.39 crore (Rupees One Hundred Eleven Crore Thirty-Eight Lakh Ninety-Five Thousand Four Hundred Eleven and Sixty Paise). This significant investment reflects the commitment to modernizing railway infrastructure and improving operational reliability.

This achievement strengthens RVNL’s position as a key player in India’s railway infrastructure development, contributing to the ongoing efforts to enhance the country’s transportation network.
