NTPC’s Sanjiv Kumar Singh set to be next Director (Mining) of HCL

New Delhi: Sanjiv Kumar Singh is set to be the next Director (Mining) of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Mines. Singh has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Saturday. He is currently working as Additional General Manager in NTPC Limited.

Singh has been recommended for the post of Director (Mining) of HCL from a list of five candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel. Out of five candidates, two candidates were from HCL, and once each from NTPC, South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL) and Indian Railways Service of Electrical Engineering. All the candidates were interviewed by the PESB selection panel on Saturday.

As Director (Mining) of HCL, Singh will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the company. He will be responsible for planning, development, production and operation of the opencast and underground mines and beneficiation plants of the company. He will also be required to participate in all policy-making decisions and oversee and control all matters relating to mining.
