New Delhi: Sujoy Choudhury is set to be the next Director (Planning & Business Development) of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Friday. He is currently serving as Executive Director (Other Units) in IOC.
According to a notification issued by the PESB, Choudhury has been recommended for the post of Director (Planning & Business Development) of IOC from a list of seven candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel on Friday morning. There were a total of six candidates, including Choudhury, from Indian Oil. And one candidate was from GAIL (India) Limited.
As Director (Planning & Business Development) of Indian Oil, Choudhury will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman. He will contribute to the formulation of corporate plans, policies, and strategies, both short and long term, towards attaining the business objectives of the corporation. He will also be the Head of the Business Development wing of IOC and will be responsible for the overall performance of the business development function.
Indian Oil is a government-owned oil and gas company headquartered in New Delhi. It is a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG). IOC is the largest oil marketing company in the country. It is ranked 1st in Fortune India 500 list for the year 2016 and 117th in the Fortune Global 500 list of the world's largest companies in the year 2019.
