New Delhi: Pulkesh Kumar (IRPS), who was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Railways, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Delhi. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been selected for the appointment to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Pulkesh is an Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) officer 2011-batch. He is currently serving as Deputy CPO (East Central Railway) in Indian Railways.

In another order issued on the same day, Roli Khare (IRS, IT) has been selected for the appointment as Director in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Delhi. She was recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Revenue. According to the order, she has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Khare is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of the 2006-batch. She is currently serving as Joint Commissioner of Income Tax under the Department of Revenue.

It is also responsible for all government programmes relating to family planning in India. The Minister of Health and Family Welfare holds cabinet rank as a member of the Council of Ministers. The current minister is Harsh Vardhan. Since 1955, the Ministry regularly publishes the Indian Pharmacopoeia through the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), an autonomous body for setting standards for drugs, pharmaceuticals and healthcare devices and technologies in India.
