Rourkela: SAIL's Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) continued its upward production trend by registering another outstanding performance in the month of February. The Steel Plant achieved best-ever February production in many major production areas.

During the month, the steel plant produced 2,29,704 tonnes of hot metal from blast furnace-5 and 82,300 tonnes of hot metal from blast furnace-1, which are the best February productions of the respective furnaces since inception. Similarly, in crude steel and saleable steel production as well, RSP achieved best February production since inception by producing 3,06,510 tonnes and 2,81,501 tonnes, respectively. The steel plant also registered the best-ever February in HR Coil production with a total production of 1,52,917 tonnes. The previous best February of 1,43,344 tonnes in this segment was achieved in 2013. By producing 1,13,528 tonnes of hot-rolled coils for sale, the steel plant registered its best-ever monthly performance.

Continuing the streak of success, CPP-III came up with yet another brilliant performance by accomplishing the highest-ever monthly production of 36.74 MW in February. The previous best of 34.38 MW was clocked in January 2020. Similarly, the plant registered the best-ever monthly dispatch since inception in February by dispatching 1,15,898 tonnes of HR Coils for sale.
