SCI Recruitment 2021: Disinvestment-bound, Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Port, Shipping & Waterways, has posted a job vacancy for the engagement of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD). Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the job before November 30. The post will fall vacant on June 1, 2022. Currently, HK Joshi is serving as CMD of SCI.

The Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) is the Chief Executive of the corporation and is accountable to its board of directors and the government of India. He is responsible for the efficient functioning of the corporation for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters. According to notification, the incumbent will also facilitate the smooth strategic disinvestment of the company in line with the disinvestment policy of the government, promoting indigenisation under the Atma Nirbhar scheme of the government.

Pay scale: Rs 2,00,000 – Rs 3,70,000 (IDA)

Age Limit: Minimum age limit 45 years and age of superannuation 60 years

The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale will be one year for internal candidates, and two years for others as on the date of the vacancy.

Employment status

The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:-

(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);
(b) Central Government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;
(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 5,000 crore or more;
(d) Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is *Rs 5,000 crore or more.

Preference would be given to candidates from listed companies.

(*The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

Qualifications

Candidates applying for SCI CMD job should be Engineering Graduate or Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant or Graduate with a full-time MBA or PGDIM from a leading Institute.

Experience

Applicants should possess adequate experience at a senior level of management in an organisation of repute.
Experience in the Shipping or Logistics industry is desirable.

Note (i) Applicants from Central Government / All India Services should be holding a post of the level of Additional Secretary in Government of India or carrying an equivalent scale of pay on the date of application.

(ii) Applicants from the Armed forces of the Union should be holding a post of the level of Lt. General in the Army or equivalent rank in Navy/Air Force on the date of application.

(c) Applicants from State Public Sector Enterprises/ Private Sector should be working at Board level position on the date of application.

Duration of appointment

The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up to the date of the superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
