NMDC celebrates Vigilance Awareness Week

New Delhi: As India celebrates Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,  Navratna Steel PSU NMDC Limited is organising various activities, competitions, and sensitization programmes on integrity commemorating India@75, during this 'Vigilance Awareness Week.' The events commenced yesterday with a quiz competition for NMDC employees and several programmes and competitions like: slogan writing, elocution, essay writing, best housekeeping activities are scheduled during this week.

NMDC is observing Vigilance Awareness Week – 2021 from October 26 to November 1 on the theme "Independent India @75: Self Reliance with Integrity" as per the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

The inaugural function of vigilance week started with administering of Integrity Pledge by NMDC's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Sumit Deb to the employees at its Head Office, Hyderabad. During the function, NMDC's Director (Finance) Amitava Mukherjee read out the message of President of India; Director (Technical) Somnath Nandi read out the message of Vice President of India;  Director (Production) DK Mohanty read out the message of Prime Minister and Executive Director (Production & Safety) B Sahoo read out the message of the Central Vigilance Commissioner. The pledge taking ceremony was arranged by the vigilance department of the company.

In addition to this, there is a session on Corporate Governance – Leveraging Technology and Whistle Blower Mechanism has been scheduled wherein Central Vigilance Commission's Additional Secretary Dr Praveen Kumari Singh will deliver the keynote address. It will culminate on the last day of vigilance awareness week i.e. on November 1 with the valedictory function and prize distribution.
