27,893 loans sanctioned via, says Gadkari

Gadkari also said that the ministry of MSME has received 19 proposals under the Solar Charkha Scheme so far
New Delhi: More than 50,706 proposals have got in-principle approval and 27,893 proposals have been sanctioned through as on March 31, Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Nitin Gadkari said in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.

The Solar Charkha scheme

The ministry has received 19 proposals under the Solar Charkha Scheme so far, Gadkari informed. The scheme meant for the MSME sector was launched in 2018 with an outlay of Rs 550 crore to set up 50 solar charkhas across the country.

The issue of self-employment

Under the self-employment scheme undertaken by the MSME ministry, the government provides Margin Money Subsidy for setting up of new micro-enterprises, the minister informed. Bank loan amount under the scheme has been raised to 90 percent of the project cost in case of general category and 95 percent in case of the special category of beneficiaries, Gadkari said. Individuals above 18 years of age are eligible under the scheme. The ministry of MSME imparts training through Khadi and Village Industries Commission, its 15 tool rooms and 30 MSME-development Institutes. The training includes Management Development Programmes (MDP), Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programmes (ESDP) and diploma courses.
