AAI hosts ACI Asia-Pacific regional HR committee meeting

New Delhi: Airport Authority of India (AAI), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, is hosting Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific regional HR committee meeting from November 12 to 14 in  New Delhi. The committee comprises of HR professionals representing respective airport members in the region. The committee members gather twice in a year to discuss and share best practices with a view to promoting HR excellence and standards among airports in Asia-Pacific. The theme for this meeting is 'HR Readiness for Future Airports.' Around 30 delegates across 10 countries and regions are participating in the meeting.

The event was inaugurated in the presence of AAI's Member (HR) Anuj Aggarwal and the representatives of various airports of the region. During his address, Aggarwal emphasized on the changing scenario of civil aviation sector across the globe and India in particular. He also highlighted the regional connectivity scheme (UDAN) of the government which is fueling growth in this sector by opening up new air routes and augmenting airport infrastructure, especially at unserved and underserved airports. He said that with the rapid flow of changes in the aviation sector, we need to focus on the key challenges for airports as well as HR fraternity in terms of building skills, adopting technology and catering to the needs of the multi-generational workforce.

On the occasion, AAI's Executive Director (HR) Sanjay Jain also shared the key HR practices adopted by AAI for preparing its employees for the future.

During the three-day meet, participants shall deliberate on the future trends of airport development and the HR interventions required to match airport requirements. The focus will be laid on the identification of critical skills in the future work environment, the role of technology in improving HR processes and implementing strategies to cater to the diverse needs of employees. The meeting is being facilitated by Dr Sanyukta Jolly, Professor of IILM Institute of Higher Education, New Delhi

Asia-Pacific regional HR committee is represented by Committee Chair of Changi Airport Group (Singapore) Pte Ltd Ms Justina Tan, First Vice-chair of Airport Authority Hong Kong Ms Florence Chung and Second Vice-chair of Bahrain Airport Company Ms Hind Mahmood.
