New Delhi: Well, Yoga is equally beneficial for you whether you fly a jet or ride a bicycle. Keeping that in mind  India's leading aviation company, Airport Authority of India (AAI), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, along with senior officials of aviation sector have participated in the International Civil Aviation Organisation's (ICAO) 40th triennial session and General Assembly organised at Montreal city in Canada on Friday.

The team launched an eBook 'SkyFit' for aviation fraternity there. Union minister of state for civil aviation Hardeep Singh Puri launched the 'SkyFit' eBook in presence of Ministry of Civil Aviation's Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola; Director-General, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Arun Kumar, Director-General, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) Rakesh Asthana, AAI's Chairman Anuj Aggarwal, AAI's Member (ANS), Vineet Gulati, senior ICAO officials and 1200 delegates from around 193 countries in the international event.

Who developed SkyFit and for what?

The eBook 'SkyFit' has been developed by the business development team of the AAI. The eBook addresses problems arising out of the occupational stress faced by aviation professionals like pilots, ATCOs, cabin crew and also air passengers by way of simple breathing techniques formulated in consultation with Yogic experts and senior medical consultants. SkyFit mobile application is available on google play store and iOS. The application is devised to address the occupational stress of the personnel in aviation, be it air traffic controllers, pilots, cabin crews, ground handlers, air passengers etc. The unprecedented growth in aviation has posed a severe threat to the safety of aviation, in terms of the pressure created by capacity vs demand, on the existing infrastructure and resources. The worst-hit of all is the human resource. A team from AAI has also participated in 'World Routes 2019' an international event held in Australia recently.
