Abhay Choudhary set to be Director (Projects) of POWERGRID

New Delhi: Abhay Choudhary is set to be the next Director (Projects) of PowerGrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Monday. Currently, Choudhary is serving as Executive Director in the same PSU. The position of Director (Projects), on the other hand, is presently held by Rajeev Kumar Chauhan. 

Choudhary has been recommended for the post of Director (Projects) of POWERGRID from a list of eight candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. A total of six candidates, including Choudhary, who were on the list, were from POWERGRID, one candidate was from Indian Railways Service of Engineers (IRSE), and one was from Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS).

Powergrid Corporation of India Limited

Powergrid Corporation of India Limited, also known as POWERGRID, is a state-owned electric utility company headquartered in Gurugram. It is a Maharatna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power. The company transmits about 50 percent of the total power generated in India through the transmission network. Its former subsidiary company Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) handles power management for the national grid and all state transmission utilities.
