ACC appoints RA Choudhary as Director (RS&T) of KMRCL

New Delhi/Kolkata: Ram Ashish Choudhary has been appointed as Director (RS&T) of Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited (KMRCL) on January 14. Choudhary is a 1989-batch, Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) officer of the Indian Railways. According to an order from the DoPT, he has been appointed on deputation basis for a period of five years with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or till the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

"The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Railways for the appointment of Shri Ram Ashish Choudhary, IRSEE to the post of Director (RS&T)/KMRCL, on deputation basis, for a period of five years with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or till the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is the earliest," the order stated.

Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited (KMRCL)

The Kolkata Metro is a rapid transit system serving the Kolkata metropolitan area in the Indian state of West Bengal. The network currently consists of one operational line of 27.22 km from Noapara to Kavi Subhash with three other lines in various phases of construction. The Kolkata Metro was the first metro railway in India, opening for commercial services from 1984. It is the sixth-longest operational metro network in India after the Delhi Metro, Hyderabad Metro, Chennai Metro, Namma Metro and Noida Metro.
