New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by the Prime Minister has approved the appointment of a number of officers at the Joint Secretary and Joint Secretary equivalent level on Tuesday. Here is the full list:

Ritesh Chauhan (IAS) has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and Joint Secretary of Agriculture under the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. He has been appointed to the post by temporarily upgrading a Director level post in the Department for a period up to September 22, 2023, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Chauhan is a 2005-batch IAS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre. He has been appointed to the post in place of AK Bhutani (IAS).

Vipul Bansal (IAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He has been appointed to the in place of Keshav Chandra (IAS) for an overall tenure of five years up to January 18, 2022, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The role is further extendable for two additional years on the availability of cadre clearance from the state government. Bansal is a 2005-batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre.

Uma Nanduri (IFoS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Secretariat under the Ministry of Culture. She has been appointed to the post for a tenure of five years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. She is a 1993-batch Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer of the Odisha cadre.

Amitesh Kumar Sinha (IRAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology for a period up to October 09, 2023, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further order whichever is earlier. Sinha is an Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer of 1997-batch. He will replace Gopala Krishnan S (IAS).  

Sameer Shukla (IAS) has been as Joint Secretary in the Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance. He has been appointed to the post in place of Madnesh Kumar Mishra (IRS) for a period up to February 21, 2023, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The role is further extendable for two additional years on the availability of cadre clearance from the state government.

Saumya Gupta (IAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education. She has been appointed to the post for a tenure of five years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier, against an existing vacancy. Gupta is a 2004-batch IAS officer of the Tripura cadre.

Ashish Kumar (IAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has been appointed to the post in place of PK Srivastava (IAS) for a period up to August 27, 2022, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The role is further extendable for two additional years on the availability of cadre clearance from the state government.

Harish Chandra Chaudhary (IFoS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the NHRC under the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has been appointed to the post in place of RK Khandelwal (IAS) for a tenure of five years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Chaudhary is an Indian Forest Service (IFoS) service officer of 1992-batch.

Kuldip Narayan (IAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). He has been appointed to the post in place of Amrit Abhijat (IAS) for a period up to September 20, 2024, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Narayan is a 2005-batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre.

Vandana Kumar (IDAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy. She has been appointed to the post in place of Amitesh (IRAS) for a period up to July 21, 2023, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Kumar is an Indian Defence Account Service (IDAS) officer of 1992-batch.

Pawan Kumar Sain (IAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Economic Advisory Council to PM under the NITI Aayog. He has been appointed to the post in place of Sumita Misra (IAS) for a period up to July 24, 2022, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Sain is a 2005-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.

N Yuvaraj (IAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals. He has been appointed to the post in place of Navdeep Rinwa (IAS) for a period up to November 4, 2023, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Meera Mohanty (IAS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). She has been appointed to the post for a period up to May 1, 2022, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier by temporarily upgrading the post of Director held by the officer.
