New Delhi: Airports Authority of India commemorated the 72nd Republic Day with patriotic zeal and fervor while observing social distancing norms and wearing masks etc. due to the pandemic. On this august occasion, AAI's Chairman Arvind Singh (IAS) hoisted the tri-colour at New Air Traffic Services Complex of AA at IGI Airport, New Delhi, in the presence of esteemed Board Members and distinguished officials of AAI.

In his address, the Chairman highlighted and focused on the great efforts and sacrifices made by our great leaders to achieve independence. He also lauded the valuable contribution of the entire AAI family, especially the aviation corona warriors who played a key role in transporting the stranded Indians in foreign lands back to their homes. He also appreciated the efforts of airports for providing various touch-free facilities to the passengers in these odd and unheard circumstances and now the authority is also committed to making all out contributions in the government campaign to provide the vaccine to all the corners of the country.

Keeping in view the prevailing circumstances on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, the celebrations were held in a subdued but solemn atmosphere with appropriate gatherings in consonance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs.  The program was webcast live for the rest of the officials and employees owing to restriction on the mass gathering.
