Gujarat Airports to Resume Operations Thursday Midnight Onwards

New Delhi: The Airports Authority of India reviewed the status of its airports in Gujarat in the wake of Cyclone Vayu at a Video Conference held in the evening today at its Corporate HQ, New Delhi.
After assessing the situation and the prevailing weather patterns as per the locally available meteorological reports, the following has been decided:

• Kandla and Keshod Airports to resume normal flight operations from June 13, 2019, 12 midnight onwards
• Normal flight operations will resume at Bhavnagar Airport from June 14, 2019, 6 AM onwards
•Diu and Porbandar Airports to resume normal flight operation from June 14, 2019, 10 AM onwards

Airport directors on alert

All the Airport Directors of AAI airports in Gujarat have been advised to keep all the stakeholders including airlines, disaster relief agencies, Indian Air Force, Coast Guard and the local administration informed about the resumption of flights and normal operations of the airport.

Airports have also been advised to give priority to relief and search & rescue flights, if and when required.

Keeping safety in mind and in order to minimise damage to the airport infrastructure and to avoid inconvenience to any of stakeholders including passengers, Airports Authority of India had suspended flight operations at AAI airports in Porbandar, Diu, Bhavnagar, Keshod and Kandla in Gujarat from June 12 midnight to June 13 midnight IST.
