New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of AK Srivastava as Chief Vigilance Officer of NHPC Limited, a Miniratna hydropower PSU under the Ministry of Power. He has also been given additional charge as CVO of SJVN Limited. Srivastava is an Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer of 1997 batch.

According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Srivastava has been appointed as CVO of NHPC Limited on lateral shift basis for a combined tenure of six years up to March 8, 2013, from the date of assumption of charge of the post, with additional charge of the post of CVO of Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVN Limited), Shimla. The additional charge will continue till the appointment of a regular CVO in SJVN Limited or until further orders, whichever is the earlier.

NHPC Limited, formerly known as National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited, was incorporated on November 7, 1975, as a Central government enterprise for the development of hydropower. It is a Miniratna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power.

SJVN Limited

SJVN Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the administrative control of Ministry of Power, was incorporated on May 24, 1988, as a joint venture of the government and the state government of Himachal Pradesh. SJVN is now a listed company, with 61.93 percent with the government, 26.85 percent with the government of Himachal Pradesh and the rest of 11.22 percent with public, according to the company's website.
