Alok Ranjan (IPS) gets tenure extension as CVO of Bharat Pumps & Compressors Ltd

• ACC has approved the tenure extension of Alok Ranjan (IPS) as CVO of Bharat Pumps & Compressors Ltd (BPCL)

• Ranjan is CVO of BHEL, also having additional charge of CVO, BPCL

New Delhi: Alok Ranjan (IPS), who is currently serving as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Allahabad, has been given tenure extension on his additional charge as CVO of Bharat Pumps & Compressors Ltd (BPCL). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for extension of Ranjan's additional charge on Tuesday. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the services of Ranjan as CVO of BPCL have been extended for a further period of one year beyond March 2, 2021, or till further orders, whichever is earlier.

Ranjan is a 1991 batch Indian Police Services (IPS) officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. He is serving as CVO of BHEL since March 4, 2017.

Bharat Pumps and compressors Ltd. (BPCL)

Bharat Pumps and compressors Ltd. (BPCL) is PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises. The company was set up in the year 1970 at Naini, Allahabad as an import substitution unit for the manufacture of sophisticated process pumps and compressors for core sector industries, which were hitherto being imported by them. The company is engaged in the manufacture and supply of heavy-duty pumps & compressors and high pressure seamless and CNG gas cylinders/cascades to cater for the needs of oil exploration & exploitation, refineries, petrochemicals, chemicals, fertilizer and downstream industries.
