Amitabh Bhatt takes over as CEO of HAL’s Bangalore Complex

Bengaluru: Amitabh Bhatt has taken over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of  HAL‘s Bangalore Complex. He took charge on February 3. Earlier, he was heading the LUH (Light Utility Helicopter) project in HAL as Executive Director. With his new charge, Bhatt has replaced Shekhar Shrivastava, who was serving on the position since April 1, 2015.

Education & background

Bhatt is a postgraduate in Management and earlier served in SKF India Limited for 15 years before joining HAL. With his 32 years of professional experience in HAL, he spear-headed marketing, planning and projects. He led the team as Chief of Projects (LUH), played a key role in setting up an integrated new Helicopter Factory, a 3,000 crore greenfield project. He is a Director on Board of HAL’s Joint Venture, ‘Indo Russian Helicopters Limited,’ formed to build Kamov KA-226T Helicopters for Defence Services.

Before taking charge as CEO of HAL’s Bangalore Complex Bhatt was heading HAL’s Light Utility Helicopter project. Bhatt has over 32 years of professional experience in the area of marketing, planning and projects in HAL. 

During his stint at Helicopter Division, helicopters were delivered to ONGC, Geological Survey of India and Government of Jharkhand and exported to Nepal, Surinam, Mauritius and Ecuador.

The corporation is primarily involved in the operations of the aerospace and is currently involved in the design, fabrication and assembly of aircraft, jet engines, helicopters and their spare parts.
