New Delhi: Aarti Singh Parihar (IRTS) has been selected for the appointment as Director in the Department of Atomic Energy. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), she has been recommended for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. "She may kindly be relieved of her duties immediately with instructions to take up her new assignment in the Department of Atomic Energy," the order added.
Parihar is an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer of the 2006-batch. She was recommended for the central deputation by the Ministry of Railways.
The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) is a department under the Prime Minister of India with headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It has been engaged in the development of nuclear power technology, applications of radiation technologies in the fields of agriculture, medicine, industry and basic research. DAE comprises five research centres, three industrial organisations, five public sector undertakings and three service organisations. It has under its aegis two boards for promoting and funding extramural research in nuclear and allied fields, mathematics and a national institute (deemed university).
