ACC approves appointment of 3 IPS officers as Joint Directors in CBI

The ACC has approved the appointment of three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers as Joint Directors in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers as Joint Directors in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on August 10, Akhilesh Kumar Singh (IPS; MH:2008), currently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the CBI, has been appointed as Joint Director in the agency. He will succeed Sudha Singh (IPS; OD:2006) and will hold the post from the date of assuming charge until July 22, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The ACC has also approved the appointment of Satya Veer Singh (IPS; BH:2008), presently DIG in the CBI, as Joint Director in the organisation. He will replace Ashwin Shenvi (IPS; HY:2006) and assume charge on or after September 7, 2026. His tenure will continue until March 5, 2028, or until further orders.

Further, Anish Gupta (IPS; JH:2008), who is serving as DIG in the CBI, has been appointed as Joint Director in the agency against the vacancy arising from the superannuation of Ramnish Geer, Joint Director in CBI. Gupta will assume charge of the post on or after October 1, 2026, and will serve until February 29, 2028, or until further orders.
