ACC approves appointments of these 3 IPS officers on new posts

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the appointments of these three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers on new posts

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by the Prime Minister on Monday has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for the promotion of these three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers:-

Rakesh Asthana (IPS) a 1984-batch Indian Police Officer (IPS) officer of Gujarat cadre, has been appointed as Director-General (DG) at Border Security Force (BSF). He has been appointed on the post for a period with effect from the date of joining the post and up to July 31, 2021, i.e. date of his superannuation or till further orders whichever is earlier, with the additional charge of DG of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Presently, he is working as Director-General at the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) Office. With his new assignment, he will continue to hold the additional charge of DG of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

VSK Kaumudi (IPS) a 1986-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Andhra Pradesh has been appointed to the post of Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). He has been appointed on the post with effect from the date of joining the post and up to November 30, 2022, i.e. date of his superannuation or till further orders whichever is earlier. He is currently working as Director-General of Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D).

Md Jawed Akhtar (IPS), a 1986-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Uttar Pradesh, has been appointed to the post of Director General of Fire Services, Civil Defence & Home Guards. He has been appointed to the post with effect from the date of joining the post and up to July 31, 2021, i.e. date of his superannuation or till further orders whichever is earlier. He is currently serving as Special Director General (SDG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
