ACC approves multiple high-level appointments on Friday

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved multiple high-level appointments across several ministries and departments on Friday

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved multiple high-level appointments across several ministries and departments on Friday. Here is the full list:

Vivek Joshi (IAS, HY:89), currently Secretary of the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, has been appointed as Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

Rajesh Kumar Singh (IAS, KL:89), currently Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, will become Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the Department of Defence. Singh will take over as Secretary of the Department of Defence upon the completion of Aramane Giridhar's tenure on October 31, 2024. Singh’s term has been extended beyond his age of superannuation, continuing until October 31, 2026, or until further orders.

Katikithala Srinivas (IAS, GJ:89), currently Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, has been named for the post of Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Manoj Govil (IAS; MP:91), currently Secretary of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, will take over as Secretary of the Department of Expenditure in the Ministry of Finance.

Vandana Gurnani (IAS; KN:91), who is presently in the cadre, has been appointed Secretary (Coordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat.

Chandra Sekhar Kumar (IAS; OR:92), currently Special Secretary in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, will become Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, replacing Srinivas.

Neelam Shammi Rao (IAS; MP:92), Central Provident Fund Commissioner, Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), Ministry of Labour and Employment, has been appointed Secretary of the National Commission for Minorities under the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

Punya Salila Srivastava (IAS; AGMUT:93), Special Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, will become OSD in the Department of Health and Family Welfare. She will take over as Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare upon the superannuation of Apurva Chandra on September 30, 2024.

Deepti Gaur Mukerjee (IAS; MP:93), CEO of the National Health Authority, will assume the role of Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, replacing Manoj Govil.

Deepti Umashankar (IAS; HY:93), currently Establishment Officer and Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training, has been named OSD to the President of India. She will take over as Secretary to the President upon the superannuation of Rajesh Verma on August 31, 2024.

Sukriti Likhi (lAS; HY:93), currently Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Steel, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty at the National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention. She will take over as Chairperson of the authority after Mukhmeet Singh Bhatia's retirement on September 30, 2024.

Sanjeev Kumar (IAS; MH:93), presently Chairman of the Airports Authority of India, will become Secretary of the Department of Defence Production in the Ministry of Defence.

Amardeep Singh Bhatia (IAS; NL:93), Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, will become Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Prashant Kumar Singh (IAS; MN:93), currently CEO of Government e-Marketplace, will assume the role of Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) after the retirement of Bhupinder Singh Bhalla on September 30, 2024.

Ashok Kumar Kaluaram Meena (IAS; OR:93), current Chairman and Managing Director of the Food Corporation of India, will take over as Secretary of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation in the Ministry of Jal Shakti after Vini Mahajan's retirement on October 31, 2024.

Nagaraju Maddirala (IAS; TR:93), currently Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Coal, will be the new Secretary of the Department of Financial Services in the Ministry of Finance, replacing Vivek Joshi.

Pankaj Kumar Mishra (IRS; IT:89), currently in the cadre, has been appointed as Member Finance of the Atomic Energy Commission, Department of Atomic Energy.

A. Neeraja (IFoS; UP:90), Special Secretary in the Department of Fertilizers, will become OSD at the National Commission for Backward Classes. She will take over as Secretary of the National Commission for Backward Classes after Ashish Upadhyaya's retirement on September 30, 2024.

Additionally, the ACC has approved the in-situ upgradation of several officers to the rank of Special Secretary:

Sunil Paliwal (IAS; TN:93), Chairperson of the Chennai Port Trust, has been upgraded to the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.

Vikram Dev Dutt (IAS; AGMUT:93), Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation, has also been upgraded to the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
