ACC approves a number of Secretary & Joint Secretary level appointments

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a number of Secretary & Joint Secretary level appointments in various Ministries and Departments

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a number of Secretary, Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Director level appointments in various Ministries and Departments. Here is full of newly appointed bureaucrats:-

1. Arun Singhal, a 1987-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, currently working as Special Secretary in the Department of Health & Family Welfare, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Food Safety & Standards Authority of India under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

2. S Gopalakrishnan, a 1991-batch lAS officer of Tamil Nandu cadre, currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). He has been appointed on the post on a lateral shift basis, for the balance period of his central deputation tenure i.e up to October 27, 2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

3. Rajendra Kumar, a 1992-batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.

4. Subir Mallick, a 1989 batch Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) officer, currently posted as Additional Financial Adviser & Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence (Finance), has been appointed as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Department of Agricultural Research and Education.

The Committee has further approved the following appointments of officers at Joint Secretary / Joint Secretary equivalent level 

5. C Sridhar, a 2001-batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, currently serving as Deputy Director in LBSNAA, Mussoorie, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office, on a lateral shift basis, for an overall tenure of seven years up to August 4, 2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

6. Alaknanda Dayal, a 2000-batch lAS officer of Punjab cadre, currently posted as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a combined tenure of seven years outside the
cadre up to November 24, 2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

7. Pallavi Agarwal, a 1991-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, has been appointed as Member Secretary in the National Monuments Authority under the Ministry of Culture. He has been appointed on the post for a tenure of five years, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

8. Surendra Prasad Yadav, a 1996-batch Indian Forest Services officer of West Bengal cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the  Department of Defence Production, for a tenure of five years, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

9. V Radha, a 1994 batch lAS officer of Maharashtra cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade, for a period of five years, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years up to March 29, 2022.

10. Manish Tiwari, a 1995-batch IRTS officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, for the tenure of five years, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

11. Vijay Kumar Singh, a 1995-batch Indian Civil Accounts Service ICAS officer, has been appointed as Member (Finance), in Delhi Development Authority (DDA) under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs. He has been appointed on the post for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, until further orders, whichever is earlier.

12. Ateesh Kumar Singh, a 1994-batch IRTS officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME). He has been appointed on the post with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

13. Anupam Mishra, 1995-batch IES officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary (A&F) at Development Monitoring & Evaluation Office (DMEO), NITI Aayog, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

14. Vinod Kotwal, a 1994-batch Indian Post & Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Service (IP&TA&FS) officer, has been appointed as Member Secretary in the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), under the Department of Pharmaceuticals. He has been appointed on the post for a tenure of five years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, until further orders, whichever is earlier.

15. Ghanshyam Prasad, a 1989-batch CPES officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Power. He has been appointed on the post for a tenure of five years, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

16. Himabindu Mudumbai, a 1999-batch IA&AS officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Revenue. She has been appointed on the post for a tenure of five years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

17. Vipin Kumar, a 1996-batch lAS officer of Bihar cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, in the Department of School Education & Literacy. He has been appointed on the post for a tenure of five years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, until further orders, whichever is earlier.

18. Sunil Kumar, a 1999 batch IFoS officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, in the Department of Science & Technology. He has been appointed on the post for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, until further orders, whichever is earlier.

19. R Jaya, a 1995 batch lAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post. She has been appointed on the post for an overall tenure of five years up to April 24, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

20. Roop Rashi, a 1994-batch IA&AS officer, has been appointed as Textile Commissioner, Mumbai under the Ministry of Textiles. She has been appointed on the for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The ACC has further approved the following appointments at Deputy Secretary & Director level:-

22. Meera Mohanty, a 2005 batch lAS of Himachal Pradesh cadre, currently posted as Director in Cabinet Secretariat, has been appointed as Director in the Prime Minister's Office, on a lateral shift basis, for the balance period of her Central Deputation tenure i.e. up to May 1, 2021, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

23. Smita Sarangi, a 2008-batch IAS officer of Nagaland cadre, currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, on a lateral shift basis, for the balance period of her Central Deputation tenure i.e. up to July 29, 2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
