New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved proposals for the appointment and extension of service of these officers on December 30. Here is the list:

Umesh Sinha (IAS) gets tenure extension

Umesh Sinha (IAS) has been given a tenure extension as Deputy Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India (ECI). According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the ACC has approved the extension in the term of re-employment of Sinha on a contract basis for a period of six months beyond December 31, ie up-to June 30, 2021, until further orders, whichever is earlier, on usual terms and conditions. 

Sinha is a 1986-batch (Retired) Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Uttar Pradesh. He is currently serving as Secretary General in the Commission. He is also a member of a committee set up by the Election Commission to look into the issue of revising the election expenditure of candidates during campaigning.

Space Secretary Dr Sivan gets tenure extension

Department of Space's Secretary and Chairman of Space Commission Dr Sivan K has been given a tenure extension. According to the order from the DoPT, the ACC has approved a proposal for extension of tenure of Dr Sivan for a period of one year beyond January 14, 2021, i.e. up-to January 14, 2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Sivan is an Indian space scientist and serving as Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). He has previously served as the Director of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre and the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre.

Naresh Salecha (IRAS) appointed as Member (Finance) in the Railway Board

The ACC has approved the appointment of Naresh Salecha (IRAS) as Member (Finance) in the Railway Board. Salecha is an Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer of 1984-batch. Previously, he was serving as Additional Member (Revenue) in the board and was holding additional charge as Member (Finance) of the Board since October 1.
