New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Adil Zainulbhai as Chairman of Capacity Building Commission (CBC) under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on Thursday. Zainulbhai is currently serving as Chairman of the Quality Council of India (QCI). He is also the Chairman of Network 18 and TV18 and is currently on the Boards of Reliance Industries Ltd, Cipla Limited, Reliance Retail Ventures Limited and Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited.
In addition to this, the ACC has also approved these three appointments in the CBC:
The ACC has approved the appointment of Ramaswami Balasubramaniam as Member (HR) of CBC. Balasubramaniam is the founder of Swamy Vivekanand Youth Movement, a development organisation based in Saraguran. He is an author physician, public policy advocate, leadership trainer and activist. He is known for his development work with rural and tribal people in Saragur of Heggadadevana kote near Mysore in Karnataka.
Further, ACC has approved the appointment of Praveen Pardeshi (IAS) as Member (Administration) of the CBC. Pardeshi is a 1985-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Maharashtra cadre. He is currently serving as Global Programme Coordinator for Defeat-NCD Partnership under the United Nations Institute of Training and Research.
ACC has approved the appointment of Hemang Jani as Secretary of CBC. Jani is a former Senior Private Sector Specialist of World Bank.
Capacity Building Commission (CBC) was proposed by the Union Cabinet in September 2020 to harmonise training standards, create shared faculty and resources, and supervise training institutions. The roles of the commission are to assist the PM Public Human Resources Council in approving the Annual Capacity Building Plans, exercise functional supervision over all Central Training Institutions dealing with civil services capacity building, create shared learning resources, including internal and external faculty and resource centres etc.
