New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a of senior-level bureaucratic appointments, including the appointment of Saurabh Vijay as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), according to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training.

Vijay, a 1998-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Maharashtra cadre, will serve in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
As part of the reshuffle, Manish Bhardwaj, a 1997-batch Gujarat-cadre IAS officer and currently Secretary at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has been appointed as Adviser in the Inter State Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs, also in the rank of Additional Secretary.
Following his appointment, Nilkanth S Avhad, a 1999-batch IAS officer of the Punjab cadre, has been named Secretary, NDMA, with the post temporarily downgraded to the level of Additional Secretary.
Further, Priyank Bharti, a 2001-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. He will also hold the additional charge of Director General at the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

In another key appointment, Richa Misra, a 1996-batch officer of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS), has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
