ACC clears the appointments of these three IFS officers

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointments of these three Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers on Tuesday.

1.    The appointment of Satya Prakash Yadav (IFS) has been approved for the post of Additional Director General of Forest (Project Tiger) and Member Secretary (National Tiger Conservation Authority) under the Central Staffing Scheme of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Yadav is a 1989-batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer of Uttar Pradesh.

2.    The appointment of Sisir Kumar Ratho (IFS) has been approved for the post of Additional Director General of Forest (Forest Conservation) under the Central Staffing Scheme of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Ratho is a 1987-batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer of Odisha. Currently, he is serving as Joint Secretary in the National Commission for Scheduled Tribe.

3. The Appointment of Soumitra Dasgupta (IFS) has been approved for the post of Additional Director General of Forest (Wildlife) under the Central Staffing Scheme of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Dasgupta is a 1989-batch Indian Forest Service Officer (IFS) of West Bengal. He is currently serving as Inspector General of Forests under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).

The ministry portfolio is currently held by Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The ministry is responsible for planning, promoting, coordinating, and overseeing the implementation of environmental and forestry programmes in the country. The main activities undertaken by the ministry include conservation and survey of the flora of India and fauna of India, forests and other wilderness areas; prevention and control of pollution; afforestation, and land degradation mitigation. It is responsible for the administration of the 1947 national parks of India.
