New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the assignment of additional charge of Managing Director, Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC), to Deepak Agarwal (IAS, UP:2000). Agarwal is currently serving as Managing Director of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
According to a Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) order dated December 2, 2025, the approval has been granted on an ex-post facto basis, with effect from August 28, 2025. He will hold the additional charge until the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
SFAC, an organisation under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, plays a key role in promoting agri-business ventures for small and marginal farmers, while NAFED is among India’s leading cooperative organisations involved in agricultural marketing and procurement.
