New Delhi: The senior bureaucrat Anurag Jain (IAS) has assumed charge as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of government think tank NITI Aayog on Monday. He has previously served as Chief Secretary, Madhya Pradesh; Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways; and Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Jain is a 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. He has succeeded B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, upon his appointment as the Cabinet Secretary.

Jain brings nearly four decades of expertise in finance, infrastructure, and digital governance to India's premier public policy think tank. An electrical engineering graduate from IIT Kharagpur with a Master’s in Public Administration from the Maxwell School, USA, Jain has held key positions at both central and state levels.
