Arun Kumar (IAS) gets tenure extension as Director General of DGCA

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension in tenure of Arun Kumar (IAS) as Director General in Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)

New Delhi: Senior IAS officer Arun Kumar has been given tenure extension as Director General of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the extension in the tenure of Kumar on Friday. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the services of Kumar as Director General of DGCA have been extended for a period of six months beyond April 20 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. 

Kumar is a 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Haryana cadre. He has been serving as Director General of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) since June 2019. Earlier, he had held additional charge as DG of DGCA in 2019. He has also held the position of Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
