Arvind Shrivastava (IAS) assumes charge as Secretary, Department of Revenue

Arvind Shrivastava on Thursday took charge as the Secretary of the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance

New Delhi: Arvind Shrivastava (IAS) on Thursday took charge as the Secretary of the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance. His appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on April 18, 2025.

Shrivastava, a 1994-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Karnataka cadre, brings with him extensive experience in public finance, economic policy, and urban development.

Prior to this appointment, he served in the Prime Minister’s Office as Joint Secretary and subsequently as Additional Secretary. His earlier roles include Joint Secretary in the Budget Division of the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, and Development Officer at the Asian Development Bank.

Shrivastava has also held key positions in the Karnataka state government, including Secretary of the Finance Department and the Urban Development Department in Bengaluru. He has also served as Managing Director of the Urban Infrastructure Development & Finance Corporation in Karnataka.
