Ashish Goyal (IIS) appointed as DG (Media) at Election Commission of India

The ACC has approved the appointment of Ashish Goyal (IIS) as Director General (Media) of Election Commission of India (ECI)

New Delhi: Ashish Goyal (IIS) has been appointed as Director General (Media) of Election Commission of India (ECI). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment on April 21.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Goyal has been appointed to the post at the Joint Secretary level for an overall tenure of five years up to April 30, 2028 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by upgrading a vacant post of Director in the ECI, initially for a period of two years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post.

Goyal is an Indian Information Service (IIS) officer of 1996-batch. Presently, he is serving as Additional Director General at National Museum under the Ministry of Culture.
