The appointment has been made at the Deputy Secretary level for a period of five years, starting from the date she assumes charge of the post. Her tenure will continue on a co-terminus basis or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.

In an official communication from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the Uttar Pradesh government has been directed to relieve Ms. Singh of her current duties with immediate effect to facilitate her transition to the new assignment.

Singh’s appointment reflects the government's emphasis on experienced bureaucratic leadership in key ministerial roles, particularly in sectors impacting women and child welfare.

The Ministry of Women & Child Development, under the leadership of Annpurna Devi, plays a critical role in formulating policies and programs aimed at social welfare and empowerment. Singh’s administrative expertise is expected to contribute significantly to the ministry's ongoing initiatives.
